Tuition 

Q: Do you offer other durations for your tuition classes, other than 2 hours? 

A: Sorry, we only offer 2-hour tuition classes for the time being. Other durations will be considered if there is a demand for them. 

 

Q: How is payment for classes collected? 

A: An invoice will be issued upon the completion of every lesson, and payment should be made within 14 days of the invoice date. For convenience, we offer an option to pay a month’s worth of lessons in advance.

 

For clients based in Singapore, payment can be made using non-cash means such as PayNow. As for clients who are not based in Singapore, a payment link will be sent for payment to be made using a VISA/Mastercard. 

 

Q: Where are your tuition classes conducted?

A: We are currently on a flexible arrangement in terms of class locations, and work with a variety of venue providers at the moment. 

 

Examples of physical locations in Singapore include those in Bencoolen, Bugis and Novena, however locations will be finalised based on a range of factors including student demand and venue availability. 

 

For students outside of Singapore, lessons will be conducted on online platforms such as Zoom. However, it is entirely possible that we will be able to conduct physical lessons for overseas students in future, if plans change eventually and we do get the opportunity to come over to your city! 

 

Q: Walk me through your typical tuition class. 

A: Besides answering questions on the school syllabus, I supplement the syllabus by introducing new avenues to learn the two key elements of a language: grammar and vocabulary. Such avenues, which include educational videos, songs, informational articles and more, provide students fun and interesting ways to enrich their learning experience. 

 

In addition, interactive games and mini quizzes will be organised to encourage interaction among students from various schools, and at the same time bring their minds together as part of collective brainstorming. In this way, students not only learn from their teacher, they also get to learn from each other, proving that group tuition classes can certainly be beneficial as compared to 1-to-1 sessions. 

 

Q: I’m not sure whether your tuition classes are suitable for my children. Do you offer free trial lessons as a preview? 

A: We believe in the quality of our teaching and hence do not give away free trial lessons. However, since billing is done after every lesson, you are always welcome to join us for one lesson, and should you decide that our classes are not suitable, you are free to discontinue at any time once payment for the first lesson has been made. Of course, we do hope that you’ll like us and continue! :) 

 

Translation and Voiceover

Q: Do you have any samples of your translation/voiceover work for reference? 

A: Of course! Samples are available upon request. Please contact us for more information. 

 

Q: What kind of industries do you have experience in?

A: For professional translation, the Human Resources (HR) consulting industry. I also have experience working as a broadcast journalist with Singapore’s national broadcaster. That stint required translating huge amounts of information from English to Chinese for prime-time news bulletins. 

 

For voiceover, the cryptocurrency, construction/workplace safety and cybersecurity industries. These voiceover clips were recorded for both internal training as well as external marketing and social media usage by companies. 

 

Q: Why don’t you disclose your rates for translation and voiceover projects?

A: Translation and voiceover, unlike tuition, involve a wide range of parameters such as language pairs, nature of material, intended usage, time taken etc. The requirements for these parameters can vary drastically depending on the nature of the project, and hence the rates as well. 

 

We always recommend contacting us first with a brief description of the project, and we will respond back with a customised quote based on the exact requirements.
